Description
Many students now attending massage training programs were born after 1982 and form part of the generation commonly called Gen Y. Gen Y students have different characteristics than previous generations and present some challenges in the classroom. This presentation takes a closer look at Gen Y students and explains the use of emotional intelligence building as a way enhance learning environments. It is interesting to notice that emotional intelligence skills are very important to professional massage therapists. By taking time to develop these skills through classroom activities, all students, no matter their generation, can benefit.
